Place Card Tips

Place Cards for the Head Table

Place Cards for the head table are printed differently from the other place cards. "Table Number ___" is not printed on the head table place cards. So you need to designate which place cards are head table place cards by placing "HT" in the "Table Number" field.

Note:

1. If only one person (e.g., the husband) from a married couple (e.g., Mr. and Mrs. John Smith) is seated at the head table, we suggest you edit that place card to show only the person at the heat table (e.g., Mr. John Smith) and designate him/her for the head table (HT). Then create a second place card for the other spouse (e.g., Mrs. Judy Smith). Do not designate this spouse's place card for the head teable.

How to Arrange Your Place Cards

The most widely used system by most reception halls is to place all the place cards (except the head table cards) on a table at the entrance to the reception hall. The cards should be arranged in alphabetical order so the guest can easily locate their place card. They can then go into the reception hall and find their table.

Note:

1. It would be up to the guests to determine their own seating arrangements at the table they have been assigned.

2. The reception hall should be able to provide and position large table numbers in the middle of every table.

Do not Delete Any Guests from Your Place Card List

Before ordering, do not delete any guests from your place card list. We suggest you let us print out ALL your guest's names (do not delete anyone). The way you can order early (even before the R.S.V.P's are returned). If a guest is not coming, simply discard that place card.

Add Anyone and Everyone to Your Place Card List

Before ordering, add anyone and everyone to your place card list. Here again, you can always discard any place cards that you will not need. Since you are paying a flat fee for the place cards, adding additional names will not increase your cost (until you reach 300 place cards).

Place Cards with "and Guest"

If you end a place card with "and Guest", Bride's Mate will automatically create a second place card with the "and Guest" removed. So if the guest responds that only 1 person is coming, you can use the place card that has "and Guest" removed.

Leave Table Numbers Empty

We suggest that you do NOT fill in the Table numbers.

Bride's Mate will leave a blank line so you can manually fill-in the table number (right before the wedding). We have found that it is a difficult task to correctly complete the table seating very far in advance of the wedding. There are always last minute changes. You may want to wait until the day before the wedding to neatly write the table numbers on the place cards.
