Place Card File Formats
This section discusses the best ways to enter your place card list in a computer file and submit it to Bride's Mate. Please note that no faxed, typed or handwritten lists are accepted. Your place card list can be entered into one of the following software programs.
You can also include two digit table number for each place card. The table numbers are optional. If you include the table number (Ex: 12), the last line on the place card will say "Table Number 12". If you do not include them, the last line will say "Table Number ___". You can then hand write the table numbers over the blank line.
Word Processing and Text Editor FilesIf you are entering the list in a word processor or text editor (such as Word, Word Perfect, Wordpad or Notepad), we suggest you use one line for each place card. If the place card has is to have names on a second line of the place card, separate them with double slashes ( // ). For example:
Mr. John Smith // Ms. Susan Jones <- 1st place card with names on 2 lines You would continue this process with as many lines as needed to complete the place card list. If you plan to include the optional table numbers, simply enter the table numbers before the names and place a double slash after the number. For example:
12 // Mr. John Smith // Ms. Susan Jones <- 1st card with Table Number 12
Spreadsheet ListsIf you use a spreadsheet for the place card list (Microsoft Excel or Lotus 123), create two columns in the spreadsheet for the names on the place cards. Column 1 would be line 1 on the place card and column 2 would be the second line on the place card. If you only need one line for the names on a particular place card, leave column 2 blank. If you plan on including table numbers, create a third column for the table numbers. For example:
Remember that each of the two lines on the place card can have up to 39 characters (including spaces) for the guests' names. The table number line would be limited to 2 digits for the table number.
