Bride's Mate

Bride's Mate has been in business since 1989. Our company's original plan was to develop and sell a wedding planning software program. Our original Bride's Mate software was developed in DOS and marketed through catalogs beginning in 1990.

In 1992 we developed a calligraphy addressing service and entered into the wedding invitation business. At the time we only sold invitations in our local market in St. Louis, Missouri. Our wedding invitation customers would receive our software for free and could receive calligraphy addressing on their wedding invitations for a small fee.

In 1993 we decided to offer the calligraphy addressing as a free service to customers who purchased our wedding invitations. This worked sucessfully in our local market.

By 1995, we were looking to expand our market for invitations beyond our local St. Louis market. We saw the internet as a perfect opportunity. We decided to give our wedding planning software for free on the internet in order to attract potential customers to come to visit our site. Our website was first placed on the internet in 1996. Since then, we have had over 90,000 users download our software.

Our most recent development was the addition of an online catalog of Carlson Craft wedding invitations. Customers can now view a full line of invitations directly at our website. They can also download the Bride's Mate software, which has a guest manager, planning calendar and expense tracker.
